A Sentence Is Like A House

A SENTENCE IS LIKE A HOUSE.
IT NEEDS CERTAIN COMPONENTS TO BE BEAUTIFUL.

·       IT NEEDS A SOLID FOUNDATION, WITHOUT IT, THERE IS NO HOUSE.
·       A FRAME, WALLS, AND A ROOF ARE THE BASICS AND WHAT MAKES THE HOUSE HABITABLE.
·       AND DECORATIONS TO ENSURE ITS BEAUTY AND TO REFLECT OUR PERSONALITIES

WHY IS A SENTENCE LIKE A HOUSE?
BECAUSE IT, TOO, NEEDS ESSENTIAL COMPONENTS TO MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL.

·       THE FOUNDATION OF A SENTENCE IS THE SUBJECT AND PREDICATE – WITHOUT THEM, THERE IS NO SENTENCE.

·       THE FRAME, THE WALLS, AND THE ROOF OF A SENTENCE ARE THE INDEPENDENT AND DEPENDENT CLAUSES AND ALL THE VARIOUS SENTENCES WE CAN MAKE OUT OF THEM.

·       AND THE DECORATIONS ARE THE FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE DEVICES WE USE TO MAKE SENTENCES NOT ONLY BEAUTIFUL, BUT REFLECT OUR WRITER’S VOICE.
